Default Anyone with a "classic" wood steering wheel (think Nardi) in their newer cars?

Some of you are going to wonder why I'm posting a thread about a modification just days after starting one about the virtue of keeping these cars bone stock. Well, I'm just plain curious what it might look like. I don't know if there's any possibility it would come out cool, or if it would look so out of place that it would destroy the interior.

I've Googled and Googled but haven't found any examples. If you've got any pics, please share them.

Thanks!

Nardi classic wheel was a loooong time before airbags. Using one in an airbag equipped car would be tough due to the electronics, and would look a bit out of place in a modern interior.

Lol, thanks Mick. I can't claim credit for the saying, I think it originated on the Corvetteforum.com a long time ago in reference to wings and other over-the-top mods.

I like that. When you do a few pieces to create a theme it looks very classy.

Keep in mind that the 911 originally had wood. Wooden steering wheels go way back. In fact, they're the reason leather driving gloves were developed. Today's modern 911s have leather steering wheels so that you don't have to stop and put on leather driving gloves.

I'm old school, having driven Porsches since the early 1970s. Thus, I do what I want to do, and hence the reason I ordered wood for my Carrera.

Dan…love that interior and love the wood! I tried to do that on my PTS but the order was already closed so I was too late. Looks very classy.

I keep thinking when I ordered the Turquoise Blue PTS I was tempted to do black interior and my wife said she loved yours….and I'm so glad I took a chance….it's a most beautiful combo!
