You have us all biting our nails! If this mod sounds as good as it looks, I will be giving your man a call! Let us know if there is any droning and how they sound at normal speeds.
I suspect he's getting a patent before he lets us hear it.

Drove to work today and the sound is awesome, no drone, not loud in the cabin but has the sound of a true Porsche.

Grin from ear to ear.

I have to say this is a nice mod, I like how it is in the cabin, very subtle can listen to the radio and make phone calls and it is not loud at all, even when you really get on it, in fact I thought it was a bit quiet.

Outside the car is a different story it brings the exhaust to life with a deep growl it sounds really great, a nice full (wide) bodied tone.

That sounds amazing! Very motorsport.
As a gundo owner (2") this really has me thinking. Another cheap way to get amazing sound.
For all you experts out there if you did this on an already gundo'd exhaust what would happen? further amplification?

Sounds great! Does it really howl at about 4000 under load??

Do you have a duck tail??

...no ducktail although that is on the list as is the speedster font end....

When on the gas under load it is a mean gnarly sound not obnoxious in fact I had an older "lady" in a BMW give me the thumbs up today as I ran through the gears past her in the left lane... way too funny.

So actually it is on the inlet side of the exhaust not the outlet. After a few weeks of use it is an awesome mod, I am very happy. The sound is very "motorsport" as one other member commented.

I did a DE with the Porsche Club and got a ton of positive comments and requests for the details on the exhaust.

For the money and having heard the Tubi and other options this is a must do.

Pretty sure that third port on the muffler is how the OEM PSE is plumbed.

The work was done by Hanksville Hot Rods just south of Denver, he is a Porsche Club member does tech inspections for the DE's and is an all around super nice guy. Does fabulous work. http://www.hanksvillehotrods.com/ The new pipe is 2" 304 stainless w/ stainless tig weld, very clean.

He did set up a template of the pipes and the cutouts, he has it for both the 997.1 and 997.2 exhaust. It will save time and money for the next guy....

It is installed, took me an hour after work, the 997.2 is an easy muffler removal, even the third, top, bolt on the cat is easy to get at with a 12" extension and a universal on the end of a short socket, you can reach it from the exhaust opening in the bumper.

Here are the pics of the work: (will post sound tomorrow).
interesting work
thanks for sharing

Reviving this one. What if we just open the third hole and pipe that striaght to the outlet like the actual pse? The ops mod is from the third outlet to the inlet pipe. The pse has the third outlet going out already. Hmmm.

Another thread had posted this X-ray image of the internals, just FYI. There is certainly no pipe behind the third port.
