I'm planning on going to the track maybe once or twice a year. I will mostly be driving it on suburban roads (some not that great here in New Jersey and New York). As wonderful as the GT3 is, I'm a bit concerned about the "daily drivability" of it on regular/dumpy roads. I'm leaning towards the 911-50 because it pulls together all previous generations of the 911. There's always going to be something someone doesn't like about some aspect of any particular generation 911. It's the sum of the parts that I'm looking at and not any individual component of what Porsche put into it.
I was leaning towards the Black Monochrome or the Geyser Grey, but someone mentioned that the Geyser Grey didn't look as nice in person as it did on the online pictures.
My build would be:
Black Monochrome
Glass electric sunroof
Front and rear parking sensors
Bose sound system
Smoking package
Passenger footwell cargo net
Black Houndstooth interior seats
PDK
The graphite grey pics appear a bit dull but I'm not particular towards grey (had originally specked out a boxster in PTS turquoise blue.)

If it were me, easy choice, White GT3. BUT, it isn't. What does your wife think? Many wifes wouldn't like the ride in a GT3 due to the roughness and the 50 may be a better choice. My wife on the other hand, would insist we get the GT3. At the end of the day, you and her need to like driving it and enjoying it. If not you will hate it. As for color, I like the dark gray in the 50.

The new 991 GT3 will be a lot more refined and usable on the street...the 991 GT3
over the Carrera 50th all day every day!

Sorry, did I miss something? How are the two cars comparable? Should be a much easier decision compared to some of the other comparisons currently asked. Anyway, looks like OP has decided and would be the right choice based on his use.

+100, if you don't need the back seats, 991 GT3 all day. From what I've read, the new 991 GT3 is just a better Carrera unlike the previous GT3's that were more hardcore. The new GT3 is build for the road but can be used for the track, the previous GT3's were build for the track but can be used for the road is what I've been reading. The new GT3 is more refine, more comfortable, they don't even offer a manual. We can all assume the GT3 is just a modded Carrera.

Are we talking 991 GT3 vs. 991 50 anniversary? If so, absolutely no question 991 GT3.
