GT3 without a doubt!

Race Car
Saw it in person.
Geyser or maybe Old Geezer doesn't work for me.
Kind of a polished primer by that's just me.
I like sapphire blue but can't you order through the special wishes program any color?

The arguments for a GT3 are very compelling. For sure, it will be a fantastic car, any of us would be very happy to own one.
But to me, the 911_50 is like a very very special GTS, especially in its US spec trim. So for the same reasons one might have chosen a 997.2 GTS over a 997.2 GT3, the same would hold true for the 911_50, even more so. Furthermore, one could argue that the 911_50 compared to the very limited edition 997.2 911 Sport Classic is a down right bargain. Plus it's available in the US, the 911 Sport Classic wasn't.
Finally, for me, I'm just a manual trans kind of guy at heart. As good as PDK is, and it's dang good, I like using my left foot and shifting the old fashion way. And I could do that in the 911_50, not so in the new GT3.

What I find interesting is that people who have regular Carreras are recommending GT3. Just curious as to why you would recommend that to the OP when you didn't follow your own advice for yourself
Tough choice. For me, I go back and forth. 911-50 is more live able with daily and has back seats. Powerkit, etc are standard. I'd lean here. Gt3 will be better performer no doubt. More special. But for my uses, 50th is nudging ahead.

There are a couple of reasons I didn't go for a GT3 when I bought my C2S.
1. Cost. For me it would have been a fairly tired Gen1 or Gen ii 996 GT3 for the same cost as my C2S cab.
2. My wife wanted the rear seats so we could take the kids in it at the same time.
3. I actually wanted a cabriolet because on a nice day nothing beats dropping the top.
The GT3 will hold its value better. The 50 while lovely is not a speedster or sport style special type of 911. It is rather a normal 991 with lots of extras on it. I think personally I would go for a c4s cab even if every once and while I wished I had the GT3.... but that wasn't one of the options

both cars are outrageously overpriced. gt3 has better technology package and will hold value better, as usual.
rear seats argument may have value, I still haul my son around sometimes to school or camp in my car, so it is important. it was always a deal braker argument with my wife about any 2 seater car and a reason I did not get gt3 originally.
not sure how big inconvenience level of 991 gt3 will be compared to 997. in our cars those wings and low sitting front bumper render those cars extremely road unfriendly. but it looks like 991 gt3 was designed as a road car first so it may be much nicer than 997.x gt3 for that.

I'm new to the whole Porsche thing. I had the fortunate opportunity to reserve an allocation for the 911-50 but also am considering the GT3 (either or). But I need your opinions. I'm not crazy about any of the colors being offered for the 911-50. Would you guys/gals pick the 911-50 or GT3? And if the 911-50, then would you get: 1. Geyser grey (lighter). 2. Graphite grey (darker) or 3. Monochrome Black?
If GT3, then what color from the porsche color palate? Sapphire Blue Metallic and Rhodium silver are the new colors being offered.
Choices:
911-50 Geyser Grey
911-50 Graphite Grey
911-50 Monochrome Black
GT3 - What color would you select?
Appreciate all opinions. Thanks.

I have had te same struggle as you did ;-)
I followed my gut. My passion. I guess that this choice is all about passion. So i chose the 991GT3.
Because of the driving and the sound.
I also use the car as my daily.
I don't know if you can live with no backseats but that's the biggest difference of all. If you need those go for the 50Years. I didn't so I took the Gt3.
For the rest. Hard to make this choice for you. But I will most definitely not regret it. ;-)
(Ok, I also would advise you to have the front lift if you drive it as a daily)
Looking forward to hear what you chose. Best of luck in the decision taking process!
Best Regards Hans

OK. My 911/50 arrives in 5-6 weeks and I'll tell you why I passed on the GT3. This will be my forth 911. I am trading in my '09 997 2S. My new 911/50 is fully loaded with ceramic brakes/PDCC/Burmeister/LED's etc. Basically checked off EVERYTHING so it's actually more expensive than the GT3 and the same as a modestly optioned new turbo. It's coming in graphite and full leather and PDK. I don't really like those cloth seats. Black leather is just more classy. So,why no GT3? Because I don't track the car. If you are not a tracky why would you want the more uncomfortable car? I love a sunroof. I love a great stereo. To me the 911/50 with the rear drive and wide body is the ultimate daily driver. Here is another thing. I'm 6'3" and 275 lbs. Those sport seats SUCK on a road car for anyone plus sized. The GT3 is no doubt a phenominal race car for the street but I want a street car capable of track use. Also its not just a C2 with the power kit. The wide body really adds to the style. Do you really think you are going to rev out that GT3 engine driving in busy traffic? seriously.........

Hi Scuba. Must agree with prev. message; try a 911 GTS for a year or so. These are very fast and still work on the road. I bet you wind up keeping it.
By the way, what is with all these primer paint jobs? Did Porsche run out of color? Might as well use camo paint, those grey and dark jobs are invisible out of the sun. If you must, turn on lights in the rain.
