How does one retrofit PDLS headlights in a 997.2?
I read somewhere it wasn't worth doing.
It's not just the headlights but several other components....
I'd consider it if it was straight forward...

New member here. Picked up this 08 C4S this past December with 45k miles on her. So far I have just added Bilstein B16 coilovers, which I love. I have a Kline exhaust system on order which is supposed to ship in early August. I can't wait to hear how that setup sounds. I did not get the headers, but it will have the 200 cell cats.

Thank you both! It's funny, when I first saw the car listed I was not too sure about the color. Then when I saw the Ruby Red Metallic in person I was all for it right away. That color combined with the gray leather interior was quite unique compared to everything else I was seeing available.

I drove (or is it rode) the Tail on my way home last week from picking up my new-to-me 997. It started raining but we had nobody in front of us or behind us, only opposing traffic. Was a nice intro to the new ride.

I bet! It is quite a road. That was a hell of an experience for me, having never really pushed my car to that level. With a leader and group to follow really let me realize how incredible these cars handle without feeling like I was outside my abilities. Looking forward to doing it again in the fall.

Tail of the Dragon, is it basically all 2nd and 3rd gear with loads of twisties or does it also include some stretches where you can really row through all of the gears? Not that I would complain if I had to spend my entire 4s life in 2nd and 3rd, LOL.

1,2 and a brief pull in 3rd. Never more than that. It's almost all second gear really. There are plenty of other roads in the area that allow for more time rowing through the other gears. On other side of the Dragon you can, or should, really never get up into the higher gears with any enthusiasm as that is where the authorities really like to spend their time looking to ruin your fun.

I just "retrofit" PDLS into my 997.2.(Link) The PDLS headlights are plug and play in any 997.2 with xenon headlights.(not lightweight headlights). The left and right functionality wont work because of missing components and an error will appear on start up. But the headlights retain all functionality of regular xenons headlights.(low beams, high beam, up/down adjustments) Then you can just code out the error. Thats what I did. Found a pair of PDLS units on ebay with all bulbs and controllers for less then the cost of one new PDLS headlight.
