Wow. I'm not a wing/spoiler kind of guy. But that black wing really plays nicely off some of your other elements. Nice car...T
Thank you!

Wasn't that dramatic to be honest! Till now am still not sure what happened - was 3 laps in on a hot day (air temp ~35C), happened right after the home straight on a low speed turn. Right rear just came apart mid-turn but wasn't too much trouble getting her under control and rolling off the track.Real damage was 4 hours spent getting new tires that could've been spent on track instead!

Glad your safe. Had a friend with a similar incident at VIR and he backed her into a wall. Could have been much worse!
Hi guys - had this 2010 C2S for 2 months now and loving every minute. Well most minutes anyway, you'll see from my picture the time on track where i managed to rip the rear tires off...
What tires were they? And was there a root cause found?

Michelin PSS 295/30/R19. Originally suspected they might have been under-inflated but later measured the other rear tire - 33psi cold... and no suspicious sidewall wear either. Had been to the workshop couple of days before to check it was track ready with no issues flagged. So just marking it down as a bad luck.

A rear tire on a 997.2S at 33PSI cold IS grossly under-inflated.
On track?! Absolutely not. Probably could be 31 cold and still be right on the money for 38 PSI hot. FYI I run mine at 33 PSI cold on the street. Softer ride and sits at 37-38 hot.

I'd tend to agree. Add in the tropical clime here, air temperature was 35C and track just about 60C. Was on my 3rd running lap too so would expect tires to have been well warmed up by then.
Wash and waxed both of my boxers yesterday and and polished both my boxers yesterday. I also polished the lips of the wheels. Installed new FS tips and Fister exhaust last week so I needed to get the hand prints off the rear bumper.
