Default Your opinion....reprise white steering wheel, vintage look?

A number of European brands, including Porsche and Mercedes and BMW, used to outfit their products in the 50s, 60s with white steering wheels in contrast to dash and seat and door colors. I found this aesthetic convention to be rather attractive.

Fiat has reprised this concept in the new 500.

Anyone fancy Porsche doing same?

I'm not a fan. I do remember my dad's 1978 Corvette which had an oyster interior. Got dirty in a hurry.

I've thought of this too with my Arctic Silver over Carrrera Red interior. The colors are very 50’s retro and a white steering wheel? Over the top!

the steering wheels back then were also very thin and made less of a visual impact - it wasn't TOO MUCH white. today's steering wheels are much thicker and a white wheel would now seem quite glaring. just not an apples to apples comparison. too many things have changed.

Send your wheel in to Dallas custom wheels and have him do it in white. No more than 10 days. Probably $450. If you love it, great. Hate it. Spend the $450 to get it done in something else.

+1 good point

I am not sure it'd suit our cars.

Won't happen in my car. No thanks. Even if they fattened it up and shrunk the diameter.
