Default New 991 GT3

Most of you guys have probably seen this.

The GT3 actually looks pretty good. It has impressive 475hp but to be honest I started to lose interest when the narrator started in with driving instruction, rear wheel steering and the Auto trans. All of this stuff is totally gay....

Furthermore, Porsche has done away with a standard transmission option... looks like I'm sticking with the 997. I only hope the 991 turbo isn't as retarded.

I'm embarrassed for Porsche.....these new 911's are made and engineered for the feel-good hipster generation.

Hipsters are the spoiled rotten kids still living at home for free, dressing like homeless children, sitting in Starbucks drinking coffee, posting on the liberal web sites working for Obama using their Apple Computers and texting all their friends looking for the next feel good opportunity. They normally drive their parents luxury cars quilting their parents into giving them spending money on a weekly basis. These kids are looking for the perfect high paying job that will come looking for them hoping that the hiring manager shares their same passion and pleasure for dub step, indie music and pot. They also capitalized on their parents generosity, going against their parents will, to go into massive debt by staying in school for the last 8-years studying the liberal arts and getting a maters degree that won't pay off. Should I elaborate more?

No. But I don't see where the GT3 comes in there.

Try looking at the bigger picture and ask yourself why Porsche is now market itself in a completely new direction. Porsche is deviating away from its roots and designing grand touring cars in my opinion. Even the GT3 videos are ridiculous, "When you enter a corner you should stay close to the outside lines....." give me a break. Porsche no longer speaks to the car enthusiast. If they did, you wouldn't see this sort of marketing. They now speak to the wannabe.

Wow....I have tons of money so if I buy the new GT3 people will think I'm a race car driver. OMG.....awesome. That PDK is so cool and the rear wheel steering will help me parallel park.

I'm with ya then. So then perhaps the RS will be more pure. But it likely still won't have a manual Makes no sense to me, if you can offer a manual on the Carrera S why not the GT3. All comes down to lap times I guess.

Not all of us can afford a freak'n RS. The 997 is tunable on so many levels: suspension, intake and exhaust. Porsche is making it impractical for the DIY and the guy that wants to set the car up for the track. If you're looking for a GT car then I can think of a few other rides that make sense. How about the Jaguar or the Maserati.

to have some nostalgia in the old school aka manual gearbox, no traction control, even carburated engines, but if i am paying such high premiums for a modern high performance car, i want to see and get all the latest and modern technologies applied on the car... This is very subjective but i agree that Porsche should give the option of a manual transmission...

Well I like it and if I had the resources I'd buy it. Does that make me a gay hipster? Should I seek medical help or counseling?

I get the nostalgia piece of it and it would be incredible to own a 911 all tricked out. I suspect the 911 guys freaked out when water cooled motors and navi came out. Just say'n.

I like all the new technology as well but it is certainly not' what I would expect from Porsche in the 911 modern day cars. I'll probably run the wheels off my 997 and keep it forever but it would have been nice to look forward to a 991 replacement in the next few years. No way will I go down the 991 road in the future. Maybe a 997 GT3.
