Compliments
Was sitting at a red light with my wife and we had our 18 month daughter in the baby seat in the back.. Guy next to me in his pick-up truck looks over shouts "I bet the baby loves riding around in the back of that car!!!". Does she ever!!
Haha^
This afternoon I was driving on some nice country roads in Virginia. I passed a Dad standing outside at his mailbox with his toddler on his shoulder. As I whisk by I notice this little kid (who isn't even old enough to talk) is pointing at the Porsche and desperately trying to get his Dad to look lol.

I drove to the store to pick up a couple of things, so when I arrived and left the top down. When I returned and got in and noticed a note on the passenger seat that said "Here is my number, I am the girl that was at the stop light". This is not the area where "girls" hang out at the stop light, and I am not that good looking, so I am sure it was a compliment for the car. I never did call.
She goes to the trouble of leaving you this note and you look for reasons why this just couldn't be.....oh boy!
Life is short my friend....could've been your future wife.....or better!
Call the number!

I got a lot more thumbs-up and waves in my cabriolet (996) than I have in any of my other 911s (all coupes). I think being "out there" instead of hidden inside makes you more accessible and folks are more likely to be friendly and react positively.
That said... I've gotten more compliments on my aqua blue metallic Panamera S than I have on all of my other cars combined.

Late last year I pulled into the tire shop to replace two rear tires. There was a guy standing in front who owned an M3 that was getting tires as well. He walk over and complimented me on my car and he wanted to know if it was the latest 991. He was surprised to find out that my car ('05 Launch Car) was 8 years old and belonged to one of the first batch of 997.1 models to roll out from the factory in late 2004. We talked for a bit and he seemed to be a car enthusiast, but still he couldn't tell the difference between 996, 997.1 and 997.2. Compliments are common especially in parking lots from men, women and children. But I'm sure if I lived in LA or West Palm Beach the compliments wouldn't be as forthcoming. I'm sure an Audi R8/10 turns more heads too - great looking car BTW.
On nice days I will open up the garage door and tinker around. I have the checker board tiles and two-tone painted walls with a large Porsche flag hanging up, not to mention the 911 parked inside. Most people who pass by will look but don't say anything except maybe hello. A young girl, maybe 10-ish, rode by on her bike and told me, "You have a nice garage". haha! At least her father has taught her well.
I had parked the 911 ('09 Red S) at the far end of the mall parking lot and was walking back to get in and leave after shopping. I was about 50 yards away when another car pulled up with a young mother and (I assume) her son. As she went around to get him out of the car he grabbed her hand and almost dragged her over to look at the Porsche. He stood beside the car and looked it up and down, then walked her to the other side and did the same thing. Very respectful (or Mom had a good grip) and did not peer in the windows or touch the car. They departed before I reached the car.
