There are very strong hints of brown/beige/bronze in most light (and this is why it looks very fine with a tan interior); I have at least some documentation that calls it platinum silver.

Having been a mainly Silver guy, There is nothing more striking than a Silver exterior on Metropol Blue interior.
It seemed a lot of 996's had this combo - I haven;t seen many 997's with the Metropol interior.
Hallelujah to that. I had a 996 cab that way including the top and it was amazing, And you rarely see it on a 997. Did they even offer it?

Platnum Silver has a more goldish tint. Not really silver at all.
Polar silver has a very blue tint. I remember my 1995 & 1996 993's only available in Polar Silver. I believe Arctic Silver wasn't available on the 993 until 1997.
Polar Silver looks more blue than my Polar Silver 993 in this photo.
