Default Use my Durametric - SF Bay Area/Sac

I had originally posted this in the 996 forum, but another forumite suggested I cross-post, so...

I ponied up and bought the Pro Durametric. I only own one Porsche, and expect it to remain that way for a while, but I just didn't want to be limited if I was ever searching for a new car, or wanted to help a friend. So...

For anyone in the area of the San Francisco East Bay, you are welcome to use it. Send me a PM if you are in need and we will connect. Though I live in Benicia, my job takes me all over the Bay Area and Sacramento, so I'm around.

man, that's a pretty cool offer. the world needs more selfless, philanthropic peopl...wait a minute...the world is ending tomorrow!! you won't have to help anyone!!!

seriously tho, good show, keytohwy. i hope any future takers really appreciate the kindness, as these things definitely negate the need to be OVERcharged $100's by a stealership for clearing stupid little things like a svc reminder!

Great offer keytohwy,

I considered buying the pro for the exact same reason (don't want to be limited). I do find it hard to part with $675 just to reset my service reminder - but I do most of my own work, so a "dealership relationship" with the service department is not in the cards for me.

This is a great example of why this forum is so great.

Keytohwy - Very generous of you and I will keep you in mind should the need arise. I live in the San Ramon Valley so I am within your area. Thanks again.

I suggest a 6-Pack of micro brew as payment. LOL

This is a great idea and an excellent way to share and get to know our Porsche friends. I can be as easy as meeting at Cars-n-Coffee and doing the diagnostic. Perhaps it's just an Air Bag or Maintenance Reset or some programing. Maybe even throwing you a few bucks (or 6-Pack, Cigars, Single Malt Scotch) for helping them out.

I suggested this to a few people in the Nashville Porsche Club. Everyone put in $25-50 and anyone can use it. They all looked at me like I was stupid. I bought my own.

Never even heard of a cars and code event in SF....not sure why, parking issues likely. Well, that and the fact that I make abetter coffee than any SF barista!!!

This is a fine offer. We should be sharing more resources. If I were in Nashville, I would have joined you Spokane.

Don't mean to hijack, but thanks, Key. Mine is a blue-green, but looks more blue in photos for some reason.

Even better. It's gorgeous. You in the Bay Area? Maybe I'll see it one day...

Key, I am in Charlotte, but would love to drive my car in Cali. Some day maybe.

Thanks, Puppy! I like yours too, a lot!
