I do like .1 sports chrono for the ramped accelerator map though. But I don't use it too often. If I didn't have it, I wouldn't pay to add.
In a .2 PDK, it would be my first add and priority.

The Sport Chrono function facilitates additional acceleration potential through the use of an abrupt engine speed cut-off by switching off individual cylinders (injection and ignition) in a rotating fashion just shortly before the engine speed limit. The perceptible limit of acceleration lets the driver know if an upshift is executed too late. This allows the driver to learn how to identify the optimum shift point with more accuracy and to take fuller advantage of the engine’s potential for acceleration.
When the Sport Chrono button is pressed, the abrupt cut-off is active in 1st to 5th gears for the manual gearbox (without Sport Chrono function only in 1st and 2nd gears) and in the manual gate “M” for Tiptronic transmission.
I hadn't realized that this "feature" applied to tiptronics as well as manuals. When the Sport Chrono button is pressed, the abrupt cut-off is active in 1st to 5th gears for the manual gearbox (without Sport Chrono function only in 1st and 2nd gears) and in the manual gate “M” for Tiptronic transmission.

So Suncoast supplies a new dash switch as stated with the sport button and sport button+ added. Has anyone installed the dash switch themselves? The install would seem straight forward of the dash switch, that is replace one with the other. I understand that a Porsche dealer has to download the software through Porsche using a PIWIS.

I'll confess that I don't fully understand it. Here's how Porsche describes it:

Six weeks ago I purchased a 2009 977.2 911 C2... a lease-back garage queen with 21,000 miles in almost perfect condition. Carrera white with PDK. So far I have installed a clear wrap on the nose and ordered the sports mode option from Suncoast which will be installed next week. What should I expect from the sports mode?
Just get it, you'll enjoy trust me !

Thanks for the feedback. The switch is easy to install but a Porsche dealer has to enable it. My local dealer quoted 3 hours (about $450) to install and activate. I'll post the results.

It will. I never ever use the mode you're stuck with now. If in auto it's always sport and when in manual I'm always in plus. Normal mode is a joke imo. In auto it shifts to second the moment the car begins to move from a standstill. Then you're in third gear before reaching 20mph.

Update: I was hoping to have the sport mode switch installed today but had to cancel my appointment at my local dealer because the part shipment from Suncoast was delayed. Suncoast had to order the part from a distribution center in California, have it shipped to them in Florida then ship it back to me here in California. I rescheduled the installation for next week. I will post my impressions as soon as I can.
