Well, I think we've beat this 'ol thread to death! Stefang don't like the car 'nuff to pull the trigger! What other ones on you looking at? ( You can tell we are a bunch of enthusiasts as we just jump right in an see if we can 'make it go right' for anyone buying a P-car). As if you didn't know, it's all in the hunt... Mine's just about over.

Well, I've been mulling over a ruby red/blk '09 non S at intersport - requires readjustment of budget :-), a silver/terracotta '06 S in VA - not too fond of silver, but love terracotta interior and then there's a yellow/brown one :-) '08 4S at P of arlington. First $70 then $69, now $66 - Guess it's not a popular combo?...

So what do I want?
Cab, manual, full leather, heated (pref power) seats, S if 997.1
colors - not silver, black, white, also not midnight blue or atlas - just too close to black - Favorite: cobalt blue -let one get away
interior - I love contrast, so grey/blk = not exciting, slate/terra -oh yeah
budget - at the moment - up to $60k
mileage - below 50k, pref 20-30k

Since 70% ? of the cars are silver or black it's a bit tough.

I am so glad the hunt is over for me. I was going crazy everyday looking at different websites in the morning and night seeing if there's anything new. And I hated dealing with a certain dealer that had a car I liked, but didn't take me seriously and never got back to me via email or phone calls. In the end I got a better car than the first one I really tried to get, but I dropped it off the day after I got it (friday) for a clear bra and tint and I'm waiting for it to be done.

Is it just me or does the terracotta interior look like raw meat?

It looks way better in person, but yes, it's a niche color.

I'd love to see terra cotta in person. On my computer it looks like faded red--almost pink.

That silver '06 is one of the few cars I've ever seen that looks ok with the terra cotta interior, but the front seat bolster shows some hard wear for only 33k miles--it's polished to a high sheen. Either the PO took 11,000 three mile long trips or he was one fat dude.

Yeah, I noticed that too, definitely gave me pause. Looks like that may be supple leather. I heard that doesn't hold up as well. Maybe it shows up more on lighter leathers. You'd think that if a good detail job could get rid of that they would have done so. Also looks like the tonneau has scratches or something.
I'm not that meticulous, since I'm looking for a DD, not a museum piece, but those bolsters are probably too much.

The Silver will actually be a great car. Sub - black floor mats. the silver rear consult and gear shift are great.
But then again, I have a Silver over Blue car...
The newer C has the new engine etc... nice car. Pretty close to same HP as the 997.1's. 345 vs 355 so...

Silver with black wheels has been growing on me. The interior condition on that one will require a closer look.

The only terra cotta interior I have seen online that I like was a two-tone with black dash. That one looked sharp but I've only ever seen the one.

Pending DME scan.

Emailed the silver one. He said he would send me clear pics of the problem areas, then nothing... So I said **** it, called Andy at intersport and made a deal for the ruby one. Figured I'd better do it before the budget creeps more. Full report after I pick her up.

Wide awake! It'll be a long week unless I take a day off to hasten the process.
