rodsky, CPO may be another way to go if the numbers don't work. Could you give me an idea on the CPO process and price? I've bought CPO'd cars but never went back to a dealer to attempt this. Thanks

I think you should be able to do better on the GTS. I'm thinking $110K approx.

If you trade in you save on sales tax too.

Depending on what figure you are willing to spend to move to the GTS I think the GTS is a keeper. Best all around 997 (near GT3 track prowess but more civilized street comfort for a DD) plus produced in limited numbers.

There will be a sea of 991s and 991S's.

I doubt they'd even feel different to drive.

Can't remember the exact numbers but approx $3k for CPO for 2 more years of warranty. So I have just over 3 years of warranty left, a car with 17k miles and pretty close to GTS performance for $35k less.

I'm gonna wait for something dramatically better I do anything.

That is certainly a reasonable plan.

It's called and "in-out" and most dealerships do it for about a $250 paperwork fee. Basically they 'trade-in' your car for the amount you sold it for and then sell it for the same amount to your buyer. Of course the new owner that buys your vehicle will be paying all document, sales tax, licence, etc fees as he is buying from a dealer, legally.

It's also been my experience that high end dealerships will not do "in-outs".
