After a long time of boxster/ cayman ownership, I just bought a 2005 Carrera 2 about a month ago. I have been a member of planet 9 for quite awhile, but unfortunately there aren't too many 911 owners over there. Anyway happy to be joining such an active 997 forum.

Here are a couple pictures, of the 997 sitting next to my 1968 series IIA Land Rover.

Welcome and nice car. Been a Planet 9 member for awhile as well - conversations there seemed to be filled by die hard Cayman/Boxtster owners trying the convince the world why their cars are better than a 911. LOL

I used to post on Planet-9, had 2 Caymans, loved the car, just felt was never going to get enough h.p. went back to 911s. That released a week of yellow s%#@ storms, "nothing better than a Cayman", blah, blah, I believe that one member stated " the 911 looks like an aerodynamic turd."

That's when I left Planet-9, and all of it's 14 members.

Welcome to RL and +1 on both the 911 and Land Rover. I agree with the HP comment... test drove both Caymans and 911 during my search last year. Cayman was a great car but I wanted that HP push evident in the 911.

You must be 6'3" or under, because there is no way I fit in either a Cayman or a Boxster. Not that that would have changed the direction I pursued. I've been zoned in on the 911 ever since reading about it in the auto magazines in the High School library. I probably should have been doing something more school-related, but I seem to have turned out okay.

I digress. Welcome to Rennlist! Overall, we're an inviting bunch, and we admire all that comes from Stuttgart....or most of it.

You were the one who recommended I join rennlist on Planet 9, thank you for that. And it's threads like this that made me leave http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxst...-obsolete.html

Haha, only 6 ft. 2, and the 1999 Boxster that I had for 8 years sure was a squeeze with the top up, but the 2009 cayman was not quite as bad. I sure am enjoying the extra space and confort of the 911 after driving such small cars for 9 years.

I do believe I did refer you. Welcome!!! And i am (much to my dismay) involved in the thread above. As usual, it's a few happy 911 owners being attacked by angry 987 owners. Such a dumb thread.
