What I do care about is people making asinine arguments. Sure seems like some 997 owners are insecure about the new car.

3. Why would I be envious? I like my car well enough, I sure don't want a 997 (unless its a gt3 RS or above). Something like a Carrera S does not appeal to me.

4. My point is the "raw, involving, 991 is a gt car and not a real 911, etc" argument is stupid because A) the 997 is already a GT car; B) this not a real 911 argument has been said since the 60s. Its old and stupid. Some clown's opinion here does not change this.

.
+1. I agree with 1, 2 and 4. On point 3 - i dont disagree with you, i just happen to like my 997.2S enough to have bought one. I dont feel the need to convince you to change your mind, and i am sure you're totally fine with that .. On point 4, I think you are saying that if you think the 991 is GT, then so is the 997. I'd agree.

Hey your 7.2 S is a great car. Nothing wrong with it. I have a daily car, so I prefer the 993. you don't? thats cool doesn't, nor should it, phase me.

Enjoy your super raw 997s () and STFU already.

I don't think any 991 owners are crying into their massive center consoles that some dorks on rennlist think their cars are cushy.
Quadcammer-

I wanted to suggest Placidyl or Activan. They really helped me through my rough patches - divorce, bad boss, 991 disappointment.

Most of you aren't. A few of you, the most vocal ones, I find to be asinine. But, I will stick around just to remind you that your arguments are lacking in sense.

Why don't you just take a drive in your GT car. That should help your mood.

Quadster-

Today I am carpooling in a 2002 MDX Acura. Tomorrow I will take out my GT car.

BTW, got off the synthetic antidepressents and am now on Omega 3s, high in EPA vs DHA. Smooths the bumps and hypo-manic spree episodes. Give them a try.

I suggest that Quad stay here and post away. While he can be harsh, most of his slap downs are well deserved and his perspectives are a refreshing break from the dogma spouted by some on this forum.

I LOVE the GT3 RS and would take it over the 991 despite the latter being an EXCELLENT car.

Never driven the 4.0 tho.

Cant wait for the 991 GT3's.

Default 991S fast car

Hi, I ran into this magazine review; how come Porsche 991S is faster than 458 Italia? and much faster than 997S, not to mention Lamborghini LP560-4. It is the remarkable achievement for Porsche 991S.

You guys are still arguing about this nonsense? I suspect if "Practical Shoelace Collector Weekly" reviews the 991 and claims the steering is numb, the ride is too smooth and the handling lacks understeeer the usual bunch of characters will come out and claim it as 100% ironclad proof their 997 is the true Porsche 911. Anyone want to bring a compelling argument for why more turn in understeer is better than less, why a supple ride is worse than a bouncy ride, why jiggly steering is better than smooth steering?

Quad: Vocal doesn't necessary equate to asinine.

I drove a 991 but decided I needed something that was less comfortable and had more driver feedback, so I bought a 2004 Lincoln Town Car.

same here. there is a lot of great cool technology in the 991 car.
but until it will be crystal clear how much does this technology cost to maintain and how easy will it be to repair it is all pointless talk.

all i wish now is for more courageous people to buy those cars and create some knowledge base for rest of us.
