Default I'm ready for Race Season!! Just arrived!

Porsche 997 GTS - Check
Sparco Gloves - Check
Sparco Racing Boots - Check
Arai GP6S - CHECK!! (just in SAH2010)
Sparco FIA Racing Suit - Check

Race Prepped Race Car - in progress (not check)

So until my racecar is ready, it will be track days with the Porsche, not a bad alternative!

Nice to see that Arai has a different shield change set up for auto racing helmets. The one I use for motorcycling has the most oddball shield changing procedure known to man!!

^ ^^ I think the Rennlist sponsors patronized by Wanna, myself, and others here would disagree.

I/we ain't getting a free lunch but nice try. BTW, how much useful info have you contributed to this site. More than $18/Yr. worth?

As my daughter says, "Meh!" Free info is free info some of it has value some of it doesn't; I could not possible care less whether you pay or not. I haven't contributed anything to this site other than selling a fellow member a car at about $6k under market - because he was a decent guy and a member. I wouldn't put words in his mouth but he might think $18 was worth it. Oh, I think I also saved someone a few thousand on a CA sales tax issue - I don't think he paid his $18 either and it didn't bother me a bit. This probably pales in comparison to what you've contributed but over time maybe I'll do better.

Yet, for some reason, you cared enough at the time to post about it.

Paid my $32 for two years of Rennlist Membership, this is a great site with awesome people and I'll gladly support it. I may not be able to contribute much in terms of information or DYI stuff but I do research things quite a bit and would encourage all those that contribute regularly to continue to do so.

Thanks so much everyone!

Have you had a chance to wear it out on track? I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on this helmet. Has the cheek padding recessed a bit with wear? That was my only issue was the snug fit around the face.

Your post - Worthless!!!
your post, uniformed

To the OP, you may want to invest in a coolshirt. Depending on how hot the tracks are on your intended list.

Nice set of equipment.

Hi Ed,

I actually had a couple opportunities to use my new helmet on the track and go karting, I found the Arai design to be very comfortable and well constructed. Actually I believe each Arai helmet is finished by hand thus the cost is higher.

I have NOT had a chance to race with the helmet yet but I did install the HANS anchors. This helmet being predrilled, the HANS anchor install was super easy and looks great.

FWIW, I have owned OMP/AGV, Bell, Simpson (car racing) and Shoei (motorcycle) helmets. Shoei and Arai by far are the most comfortable for me, this is probably due to my weird head shape, I pretty much have a flat head.
