Porsche Owner Wave to each other?!?

Gave a thumbs up to a brown 997.2 Cab that was driving next to me and got a grin back. When stopped at a traffic light, I tried to catch the eye of a passing black 997.1 to wave at him, but he didn't see me. So, I'm 1-1 today.

I was in a Cayman S PDK and got caught by a 997S driving the other direction, I gave a big wave and got a smile back from the lady driving. She probably thought "pansy".

I flashed and waved at a 996 Turbo today - no response.
Waved at a 987 era Boxster - no response.
Drove past a parked Cayenne - cheery wave. Go figure!
The very first drive I took in Moby the 997.2 I got a flash and a wave from a classic 911. It made my day and made me a lifelong waver!
Almost waved at a beautiful 356 today until I realized I was in the grocery getter

Funny, I was just talking to my daughter about this today while we were out for a drive. I wave whenever I notice in time. Never have I gotten a wave back from a Cayenne or Panamera driver. Lots of Boxsters in my area, and they generally wave back, as do most 911s.

After exiting I-94 on the way to Home Depot last night, I pulled alongside a maroon what I think was either a 930 Turbo, Carrera 3.2 Supersport or just a Carrera 3.2 with the tea tray. We rolled down windows, exchanged head nods and went our merry ways.

Almost universally, Porsche folks in SoCal do not acknowledge each other, at least in my experience.
One of the lone exceptions was on the freeway during traffic (~10MPH)...a guy in a 996 turbo and I had a good 2-minute conversation, which pissed off other drivers (we were not holding up traffic - still idling along, but I think the other drivers were angry that we appeared to be having a good time...).
Sure, there are plenty of Porsches out here, but there are also plenty of 'Vettes. When I drive the Corvette, I get the wave from almost every other driver - even those that are 30 years older than I am, those driving newer (more expensive) Vettes than mine, as well as those driving classic Corvettes.

In silicone valley tons of Porsches. At first thought that no one waved, but after some thought it was only old guys who didn't and most young guys did and almost all lowered or modified ones exclusively
