Default 997 Engine Mounts across models...

Anyone knows the differences (if any) between engine mounts of these models:

- 997.1 Carrera S
- 997.1 GT3
- 997.1 GT3 RS
- 997.2 Carrera S
- 997.2 GT3
- 997.2 GT3 RS
- 997.2 GT2 RS (definitely different)

I think I need to upgrade mine for next year's track season... was wondering if it was upgraded between models and what are the options?

For track use, I would stay away from OEM hydraulic mounts. Go with semi solid one.

WEVO makes a semi-solid motor mount for the 997. Beautiful part & close to $400 for the pair.

How does WEVO product compare to RS engine mount below? Same price.

I have the WEVO's and I am happy. It stiffens up everything without making noise obnoxious. In fact it brings back just enough noise and vibration in the cabin for the 911 to feel like a sports car again.

One big worry for me was that I wanted to make sure changing the engine mounts would not trigger the knock sensors. All the people I have talked to that have WEVO's are happy and have no sensor issues.

I was looking at the OE semi-solids also but the WEVO's just looked better and I could not find anyone confirming that they would not trigger the sensors...

So I went WEVO.

HTH,

T.

another pleased wevo ss mount user here. does a great job of harnessing rear end slop and assists in putting the power down during aggressive driving. easy DIY and cost effective mod.

the oem mounts are too soft and have been carried through parts bins for years. look at the part number stamp and you'll likely find a 964 or 993 sequence.

can anybody describe the process of how engine mounts get installed? do you need to raise the engine?
is it DIY or needs a lift for car and a separate engine support?
