USMC -
I was thinking about you and your clutch DIY...
They told me that the flywheel looked fine and the clutch looked pretty good, but not good enough to leave in there, once everything was apart.

The shop showed me how one of the items was spent and in need of replacement. The car is a 2006 with 50k miles. Here's what they did replace:

Clutch Set
Ball Socket Bushing
Clutch Release Arm
Clutch Slave Cylinder
Pilot Bearing

I was thinking that even if I was crazy enough to attempt the DIY, I'd never know that those parts weren't good enough to re-use.

Here are two photos of one of the parts replaced. I think they said that a bushing wore away and the end of some other part, that seats into this one, found another home. See the close up where there's an area worn away adjacent to the recessed area where it's supposed to seat. Hope that helps

edit - I can work on getting you a better pic if needed. It might be more visible in the top photo vs the close-up. On the left side of the photo, note that the new area of wear is toward the center, relative to where it's supposed to be

Put my stock wheels back on in anticipation of buyer pickup next Sunday... sad day. Old wheels (HREs) are for sale - see ads.

Welcome from Kuwait! Would be great to see more of this collection you have. Is that a GT2 RS top right? GT3 RS 4.0 bottom right?

Love the Ford GT

I had the PDK sport switch and software upgrade installed. It's great, no more feeling like it is lugging. Now the car holds each gear pretty much exactly the way I drove my past manual transmission Porsches. Haven't tried Sport Plus yet. I need to go find a straight strip of road to try out launch control!

Stage 2 Detail from Detail Boss here in AZ. They do AMAZING work, and I was blown away by their customer service.
