Any objections to Arena Red PTS?
I'm putting this question here because of all the traffic.
When I order my next Porsche I'm going to try to get it in Arena Red. Most of us will know this color of red from the 993 Turbo models.
I have not seen Arena Red on any 911 SINCE THE 993 days.
I will have to Paint To Sample this color. My question to anyone who might be able to answer is do you know of Porsche turning down a PTS Arena Red car? I don't know if Porsche is trying to keep the color an exclusive because of the Iconic 993 Turbo, the last of the air cooled cars. Just like they won't paint a car Gulf Blue or Sport Classic Grey.
Any input would be great appreciated. Gracias.

The version offered in recent years (but not currently) was called Carmona Red Metallic.
I've seen it on 997s, Boxsters, and Cayennes. Not that rare, as colors go.

Classic Ruby Red, like on 356s, is a great color.
Porsche is offering a new Ruby Red Metallic now. Have not seen one in person.

Ruby Red Metallic is a great color. I had it on my '84 3.2 Carrera. A slightly darker shade than Arena Red (more burgandy) and I personally prefer it. I wish Porsche still offered it.

I'm not a fan of Arena Red, much prefer Guards Red. But if the OP likes it, why not?
I don't associate the 993TT with that color, even though they used it in their ad. I think the lack of Gulf Blue has more to do with Porsche no longer being partners with Gulf vs. their current Mobil 1 partnership. The lack of Sport Classic Grey is to help preserve the exclusivity of that car and its crazy high price. But the 993TT is a standard production car. Nothing exclusive about it, other than the fact they don't make it any more.

I would love to see that ruby and carmona red next to the Arena... Three cars in a row just for giggles like a taste test if you would.
I'm pretty much stuck on Arena Red. Especially if I'm going to order one from Porsche, just like with Burger King I'm going to get it my way.
I have a 60th Anniversary Porsche Poster that shows all the Porsches throughout the years, like each car from each year. The 993 Turbo is of course Arena Red on the poster. It came with a copy of Porsche's free magazine Christophorous(sp?) One day. Before I got the poster I had my heart set on Nordic Metallic Gold which is pretty damn rare too. But Porsche took it off of their color pallet after the 2009 season. At the 2009 LA Autoshow

I had an arena red 996 cab.....I'm sure you can get that color as it was a standard color on 1999 and maybe later than that.....I don't like Carmon but Ruby is nice. If I were to get a PTS (which I did in 2010) I'd go rarer than that though to each his own. Look at some of the old colors....Just stay away from light non-metallics as they have trouble with those.

I was fitted for a 997.2TT at the 2009 LA Autoshow and it turned out to be Nordic Metallic after it was all said and done. I had a 45 Caliber APC round in my M1911 cocked an ready to fire; so I pulled the trigger. Had $9000 down at a dealership on a build slot but they skrewed me out of it. Found out from the salesman later on about two weeks later, he got fed up of working for a shady dealership and got a better job selling Astons/Bentleys & RRs, that they sold THE CAR THE WAY I CONFIGURED IT SO SOMEONE ELSE for cash plus a premium. Reason was is I was going to finance $75K of it where the broad who bought it had cash in hand. What makes me even madder is I see the car about once every six months. Even talked to the woman a few times, even got to drive it. Hell I was the one who showed her how to put the car into Sport Plus and Launch it. They didn't even bother to show her how to do that at the lot when she picked it up.
To say I was Pee-Yussed, spelt phoenetically, was an understatement. Went to PCA with that one, all they told me was "gee whiz fella we're very sorry". Needless to say I was burnt about it.
After that I just came to the conclusion that I was going to wait for the 991 to come out. Want a Turbo but truthfully don't know if I can hold out that long. I've got this itch that needs to be scratched and I don't know if I can wait that much longer still. Now I'm figuring I will get into a 991 or 991S and just trade up when the TurboS hit the market.
What I don't get is why Porsche doesn't come out with the Turbo from the get go? Hell they are, able to do it with the Pepper and Panamera, why not the 911?
A lot has changed since I got my deposit back. Life has been good and my businesses, consultancy and other ventures have been even better. I'm waiting for that perfect 959S to come along so I can drive it in the Targa of Newfounland. Folks think im crazy and I must admit I agree with 'em. Just don't know who will be crazy enough to be my navigator. Will be accepting applications for that position after I purchase the car.
And in the end, I still want that Arena Red Turbo I so desired in my youth.
Thanks for reading. Sorry for rambling.
