Talking Mt. Washington Auto Road

It was a gorgeous Sunday and I decided to take a drive to North Conway, New Hampshire for breakfast at Peach's. Awesome food! Afterwards, I went up Mt. Washington's auto road. It was my 911 C2S' first drive up to the top of the mountain's 6,288 ft summit. It was an awesome day!

Don't worry guys, the sticker was just for show. LOL. It came off as soon as I took the pic.

It was 72 at the base and 39 at the summit when I went. There was STILL ice at some of the areas on the summit. Brrrrrr!

Amazing. And compared to other ranges, especially in the West, the elevation is not that high.

Thanks for the pictures, and the report.

True - my HOUSE is at 7500 feet in Park City, UT.

But having grown up in New England, I have a deep respect for Mt. Washington and the power of mother nature on top of that mountain... I'd like to climb Mt. Washington and Pikes Peak in a 911... That is on the "to do" list no doubt...

Nice work Vinny! (Vanity plate cracks me up too)

I have been tempted to have my car climb Mt. Washington but I have been deterred by my fear that they would slap a "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" bumper sticker on the car without my permission. Do they ask?

They just give you the sticker after you pay your entrance fee. Its up to you if you want it put on your car.

Mount Washington is a great drive! They used to hand out a small cassette which you played on the way up, describing the route and what you're encountering. I suspect they are giving out a CD today!

Mount Washington. A mountain in which you must always be prepared. As I recall, people have been killed by exposure on that mountain in every month of the year.
