you can get it mounted on passenger side which is much better than to have it under your feet. n other bracket can be mounted on passenger side but this.

to buy helmet online you need to know ezactly what size you need. look for bell or arai, open face or closed face is up to you.

as of where to get inspected - your local state PCA web site on DE tech inspection page should have list of mechanics who authorized to do this.
Thanks! I actually looked in the april edition of the Metro NY Porsche post and they list limerock w/ lr club as a 7/22 event, yet when I go to my PCA phone app, it shows a DE on the 14th and the 22nd. Is the 14th an open to all PCA members and the 22nd just metro? The 22nd says "multi event" next to it.

I let my 19 year old son do a couple of events in mine. He had fun but would rather surf and chase girls.

I am registered for both events (7/14 and 7/22). The 7/14 DE is sponsored by Hudson Valley and the one on 7/22 by Metro NY. They are both open to any PCA member (my home region is Northeast). Sign up at http://www.clubregistration.net.

Just fyi - you wont be able to use an open face helmet @ njmp. Also, all helmets fit differently so its best to buy one at a B&M store. I got my at racing dynamics in northern NJ.

I must say that I am quite impressed w/ the poll, I thought it was going to be the other way around. I am already looking at my car differently, knowing I am going to track it! It's truly where it belongs and I am psyched!

Do I need to bring a helmet to the DE or can you rent one at the events?

I would think whatever event/track you participate in should have rental helmets for use. I can tell you that our local high performance driving school rents and sells Arai helmets. Contact the organizer of which ever event you're planning on attending. Renting a helmet from them would be the best thing for you at this point.

if you do not plan doing AX events and only DEs I would get closed face helmet with visor. it is very nasty to get a bug or a piece of rubber from outside into your eye at good speed.

i also do not think it is good idea to show up at DE event without helmet as if by any occasion they wil be out of loaners you will fail tech line.
i would get this one:
http://www.saferacer.com/bell-sport-...productid=2210

contact shop and ask them if they can send you 2 helmets so you could return one with no fees, get one which will be exact by your head measurment and other one one size smaller. usually you end up with smaller one.
