black stone guards- opinions

Drifting
Are the black ones a rough or smooth finish? I had a wide body back in 80's with the black stone guards that had a rough finish. They were a pain in the *** to wax around. If I got wax on the stone guard, I ended up with white residue that was about impossible to remove.

To me, Black stone guards ONLY WORK on lighters car (i.e White) with BLACK WHEELS! Otherwise, the stock stone guards are much better.

They are smooth in texture and matte in colour...

Hi,
Could someone that has the Speedster Black stone guard set from Suncoast do me a favor and measure out from the tip of the top to the tip of the bottom in a diagonal pattern so I can get the measurement.
Thanks

I like the idea of them but it depends on the car. It gives the car a more classic look, like a bow tie, or a button down shirt with a suit. Has the potential to look great, or a little too ethnic. I have clear factory stone guards on my car, but might bet persuaded to try something. Not sure what, besides carbon fiber.

I like the look on light car with dark wheels. I did this a few months ago as my clears were yellowing a bit.
BTW, the texture on these isn't as smooth as the clear guards. It has a slight roughness to it but it is nowhere near the roughness of the classic porsche guards. I know, I used to detail cars back then and one of my customers had a Porsche and cleaning those things was a PITA if you didn't tape them off first before waxing.
