Hi Ray! Long time no talk.

Are you hunting for a new Porsche?

Hey Tim, thanks for the shout out. I was at the dealer to pick up my car from the service department. As much as I like the 997 and as cool as the 991 looks like it'll be, it's tough to justify a new car when my 996 is so darn good. I've always been a buy (cash) and hold guy when it comes to cars (sold my last Audi with 172,000 miles on the clock) so if it ain't broke why fix it.

The 996 still looks great, drives great, and runs great so it's all good. Hell it's not even broken in yet as it still has less than 100k on the odo.

How about you, is a 997 in your future?

Ray,

If things work out, I am planning on getting a 997 this year. My preference would be a 997.2, probably a 2009 C2S, but I wouldn't rule out a C4S if the right configuration came along.

Right now I am also looking at the 2008 997.1, but hope I can swing the .2 so I can avoid the IMS issue all together. The DFI in the .2 is also a plus, as is the extra 30 HP and improved suspension tuning. This will be my second, and probably my last, Porsche so I want it to be good for the long haul.

Reds. The clears remind me too much of the ricer boy look.

My clears came with my car that was ordered by the dealer. But, I think I like them better on my red car as the red tailights typically clash with the red color paint on most cars I see.

I like the clear's on White cars especially and I like them on Silver cars.

On a Black car I'd stick with Red.

The new 991 Clear's are now available and they're ALL CLEAR! No red whatsoever.

Depends on the color for me... i'd prefer clear lights on most combinations, including black

I have the clears on my White GTS, and think they look nice. Dealer ordered my car with them.

Works well with white. I was thinking of picking up a set of whites and just switch back and forth between the reds and whites as my mood changes. Just a thought...
