Smoked tail lights are a specialty on small Japanese cars being driven by kids all over L.A.
Just looks wrong on a beautiful Porsche like yours...even if it is a "study in black."
I'm betting your windows are tinted pretty dark, too, right?

that sounds harsh.

I live in Oklahoma. What's a small Japanese car? Do they have truck beds?

Darkly tinted windows provide some anonymity. Very few people know I own this car. Besides, the thing I like most about the smoke is that it hides the cheapest-looking part of the tail lights (the white part with the very visible bulb sockets).

But one of the things I've learned from this forum is that owners enjoy modifying their cars in order to make them unique and to appeal to their own tastes. If they were all the same, this forum wouldn't exist.

My apologies, Domer911. I did not mean to sound harsh.

How you "mod" your car is completely up to you. My point was simply that "smoked" tail-light lenses is a mod you'd be more likely to see on an Infiniti G37 than on a 997 C4S.

If you like 'em, that's all that matters. And, I completely understand why guys in hot climates tint their windows dark. But, again, that's a mod you don't see on many true sports cars.

I should just keep my yap shut on this subjective stuff. I didn't mean to be critical of your choices or your car.

Tinted glass is totally alright in OKC--anyone who has sat on August 15th on the NE Expressway waiting for the lights to change knows what HEAT and SUN is all about!

I don't like the tint or the tinted lights, TX is very hot, but again thats me, I like stock mods, also stock wheels.. not a fan of aftermarket wheels only HRE p40's
Edgy love your wheels LoL..
I was thinking painting my CS wheels like the GTS lol but I love also the gt silver and the silver lip

i bought the conversion kit from suncoast and running the clears. So far i only like them on the lighter color cars such as white or silver.. I have an arctic silver 997S so im hoping it looks good once i get it all together.. if not they might go out for trade.

In pictures I think the red looks better, but I was just at a Porsche dealership last week and I thought the clears looked better out of the two 911 cabs they had in the showroom (one clear/one red).
