Default Changed CDR-24 Radio with upgraded factory sound with PIONEER NAV unit

Just giving help to people who want the option to change their stock system in their 997 (Could be useful for the 997.2 crowd, but more for the 997.1 crowd)

Just need some type of white noise on long trips other than the music from my flat six.

Anyways, like mentioned on the title, I have a cdr-24 with upgraded sound package. i hate loading cd's and just wanted to use my iPod.

Well I chose the PIONEER avic-x920bt which plays ipod (microSD, cd, dvd), bluetooth, pandora, and has Navi. More than I can ask for for an ipod player.

But anyways.......the DOUBLE DIN installation kit was from EURO MOTORSPEED (www.euromotorspeed.com)

They have kits for just the CDR-24/CDR-30
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PORSCHE-997-...#ht_2048wt_907

or the BOSE with fiber optic
http://cgi.ebay.com/PORSCHE-997-CARR...#ht_2332wt_907

My radio guy is Bo from Audiomobile from Oakland, CA. Got the PIONEER head unit from his shop and he took his time and did the install in a day. He made everything look as stock as possible.

He installed the bluetooth mic in between the plastic of the map lights and the rear view mirror. He took out the middle speaker on the dash and ran the GPS there for navigation.

Here is a quick vid of the finished product.

Hi Jbigelow

I read your thread and very interested to upgraded factory sound with PIONEER NAV unit too since my CDR24 was down recently. May I ask if the Euromotorspeed double Din install Kit come with the full wiring connecting instruction from the car original plug to the PIONEER Unit?? What I mean is all the wiring connection from the plug to the Pioneer unit from power to Speaker to different connection like the Output / Inupt +12V, etc.

Becoz I wanted to buy the kit from Euromotorspeed and the PIONEER unit and do all the installation by myself.

Thanks a lot and have a good day!

So, the installer kept all of the Amp, speakers the same? No other changes to audio? Like the external amp in frunk is kept?

Exclamation Upgrade my CDR24 with

Hi;
I have 2007 Cayman-S ("Sound Plus (Not Bose)" stereo system) and I am trying to upgrade my CDR24 with a Pioneer double din head unit. After I connected all the wiring I saw that some speakers are not working. Do you have any idea if I have to change my amp. too? Does anyone have the wiring schema? I really would appreciate if you could give me information and send the wiring schema. You may send it directly to my email adress. SEKOS@Statoil.com

Quick question, I just had my stock cdr-24 replaced and the ASK amp replaced in an '07 cayman with the sound system plus, and I am now getting a system fault message in the dash. Is this a common issue? Is there a simple solution? Thanks for any assistance!
