Jack Up my 997
Hi All,
I would like your advice on the proper way to put my 2005 997 coupe on 4 jackstands next week, so I can deliver my wheels and tires to the shop for Powdercoating. Do I lift the sides or front and then back.
Thanks for you ideas on this matter.

If you have a good hydraulic jack lift on one side at the rear jacking point. After a while the front will start lifting too on that side. Once the front wheel is off the ground place a jack stand at the front jacking point.
Repeat for the other side.
Now your car should be on 2 jack stands in the front.
For the rear, place the hydraulic jack in the middle of the crossmember and lift. The whole rear will jack up and you can place a jack stand on each respective jacking points in the rear.
Done.
P.S. You can see the jacking points here and the crossmember to jack up the rear-it's the aluminum piece going from one wheel to the other past the engine.

Perfect timing! I lifted my Targa on the rear jack point with my low profile jack. I noticed the front lifting and figured out to put the jack stand under the front jacking point. After trying to figure out where to put the rear jack stand I realized I would have to drop the rear and find a new place to jack the rear back up to liberate the jacking point for the jack stand.
Thanks for sharing the alternate rear jacking point on the cross member.

One of the safest ways to lift you p-car is via use of the stands by JackPoint. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ackstands.html
