Woke up to find my battery in my 07 C2S to be dead. Can someone tell me exactly what replacement model to buy. I think I remember people saying they used Interstate. I also have a questions on how to replace it without damaging the electronics. If i'm powering the old battery with a charger, do I just switch the positive terminal over to the new battery first? Will that keep me from losing my electronics?

Hey, I just did some searching and it looks like the Interstate MTP-H7 is the battery to get. I saw in one of the posts that someone said you had to get the breather kit? What is this and do you really need it? If you do need it is it hard to install?

I just changed my battery myself. I used the Sears Die Hard Gold R94. It fit perfectly. $139.00

You are rolling the dice on that battery. I would not venture too far from home! How long have you had the battery? In my experience they last 3-3 1/2 years no matter what type of battery you have. I just switched mine out after 3.5 years. Too many hard starts. Good luck Have a nice weekend.

Trickle charger and battery maintainer are not the same things. Though not an absolute certainty the former can wreck things if its crappy or is used incorrectly.
A QUALITY battery maintainer (by CTEK or "Porsche" - made by CTEK) is the best thing you can do for your battery.

Earlier this week I started having problems starting my car. Started using the Porsche trickle charger and that worked just fine. With winter coming, I knew that it was a temporary solution and that I needed to replace the battery sooner rather than later. So this morning I checked this thread and ended up at walmart. Purchased a Maxx 48 (cost $77 plus tax, 3 yr full replacement) which was listed as a direct replacement for my car. I am back to normal.
BTW, I saw that they sell an adaptor that connects to a 9 volt battery and to the cigarette lighter in the car. They claim that using it while replacing the battery allows you to keep all your codes. i kept the trickle charger on while changing the battery. Everything works well.
PS. This is my third battery in a 2005 model; these batteries dont seem to last long.
