Default Wax question

I know there have been tons of posts about car wax, but when i purchased my 04 4s a month ago, the Porsche dealer put on a very nice wax as the water beads off easily. I dont know which wax they used, anyone have any ideas?

Also ive used Zaino in the past, anyone care to recommend which Z formula to use on arctic silver?

Thanks

There are many options... but why not ask the dealer directly?

Probably a cheap fast product loaded with silicone. Seriously, they don't spend much time on QUALITY results pre-delivery. Get some good carnauba stuff like PS21 or Griot's. Or go nuts with the super premium stuff and go from 95% good to 98% good.

+1. Also I'd add One Grand Blitz Wax to that list.

Zaino is very good stuff. Z2 or Z5 wll be fine on Artic Silver (that is properly prepared to accept the final product). Not a huge fan of Zaino's spray detailers. Never tried the Zaino All In One product. Zaino Z10 is great for leather.

I really like RejeX wax for just about everything. Especially leading edges like front bumper and side mirrors. Bugs wash off nice. Excellent on wheels.

Yup. Forgot that one. Been a while. I just stuck to the ones I stuck myself with at the beginning.

Oops sorry for sounding pejorative above. Getting from "95% good to 99% good" is part of the fun of having a new car. Go for it! I certainly pursued 99% at one point but won't be doing that again unless I buy a new Lambo or something (not going to happen BTW).

Try a wipe on walk away product like Paint Guard Plus. I use it about every 2 weeks-takes about 10 minutes max to apply to entire car. Amazing stuff!

as above, the dealer prob used cheap, heavy on the silicone, wax. I'd recommend, especially if you live in a snow state, to properly strip off the old stuff, polish it, and seal it w/ some nice carnuba wax. While I like the Zaino stuff i perfer the look of the natural vs synthetic. YMMV of course!

I will second the suggestion for Ultima Paint Guard Plus. You literally wipe it on and walk away. No buffing at all. It takes about 10 minutes to do the whole car, it beads water like crazy and it leaves a fantastic shine. I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but I think these WOWA products (Opti-Seal is another, but I haven't used it) are revolutionary for those that can't/won't spend hours and hours detailing their cars. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Regards,
Frank A.
