The Sports Chrono display remains lit when it is use. For example, if you leave up 9.11 (9.11 seconds) it will always light up at night!
It's my understanding that the newer cars like the Panamera has a Sports Chrono display (clock) that looks a lot like ours in the Carrera, however, it also functions as a normal analog clock display. (I wish they had done that for me on the Carrera--I'm an analog clock guy, not digital. It's much faster to read.
For those using them on the track it takes some getting used to. It's easy to screw up, but with practice, you can get good.

Fallon: I think you are on the right track...if only you could talk in terms most of us non-techies can understand! It is my understanding that one can ask dealer to set the sport chrono clock to illuminate when all other dash lights are on. Is that what you were able to do? Could you explain it for the rest of us in more 'common' terms? I want to do that on my '12 Spyder. z356
