Default Sport Chrono clock

Does the sport chrono clock on dash illuminate at night along with the rest of the dash lights? Can't seem to find anything about it on manual. Can its lights be turned on on PCM or missed by Porsche? 2010 997.2.

Unless you have a flat battery, default position is on all the time, has to be reset.

Correct. Which means it will never be lit, since you will never use the timing function except once or twice as a novelty.

You can now - don't order, then do SC upgrade on the PDK.

Really, that is interesting, do you happen to know how much the SC addition would be?

$1,195 for PDK at Suncoast. This is just for the software upgrade and 2 buttons on the PCM, no Sport Chrono wart on the dash.

Whoever orders a car w/o SC and adds the now available SC software later, misses the data logging portion. I would never buy a car w/o full SC.

Wouldn't want SC to be without the wart. I like the wart. Long live the wart!

It's the first thing every new passenger asks me about.

And the answer is: that is a chronograph which (in the 997.2) is part of a data logging system for analysis by those who care about these things.

Though I have not tried in a 2010 car, I just turned it on for a 2007 via piwis II, 997 > codings & adaptions > customer specific coding > illumination > illumination in standby on

Is the data logging detailed enough to be useful on track days? Useful to me means extracting lap times, ave and/or max speed, etc. I keep deferring my 911 purchase but one of these days dave
