Default Price check on '06 C2 Cpe

A Texas Audi dealer is asking $49,997 on an '06 C2 Cpe with <13k miles. One owner, clean Carfax. Aesthetically, car looks perfect and mint, with added bonus of no front license plate and clean (no holes in) front bumper.

Arctic Silver/Black. 6 speed. Don't have options list yet, but only options I can see are Xenons, heated seats, and Porsche crests on headrests. No Bose. No power seats.

In-service date of June 2006, so car is out of warranty. Dealer has had car since May. I'm really interested in making an offer, and have emailed dealer requesting official options list, window sticker.

What should I offer/pay?

I would not spend that much money without a warranty. From a Porsche dealer with CPO, that car would probably sell close to the advertised price. So whatever price you offer should take into account the cost of a warranty - I think these run between $3-8k depending on the level and duration of coverage.

Pay for the CPO. $2,000 on one out of warranty. My 2002 is older than the '06 you are looking at, but in 9 months I have had several Thousand in CPO work.

$43k seems pretty close to fair considering it is out of warranty, I just paid a bit more for a similar '06 but it was still under CPO coverage

That's a fairly stripped car. Low miles doesn't win you a higher price. Check on a used warranty and then talk $45K. The prices of some of these are recovering a bit--about 2 years ago a guy in our region bought a low miles 06 S with several pricey options for $50K--and with CPO. Why you get much less for so much more 2 years later is beyond me.

I have one I'm selling for $52K canadian with 2 more years of CPO. Pretty much same options, but higher mileage. Mine is one of the cheapest cars in Canada at the moment.

IMHO $45k would be a good number for that car...

$45K with those low miles would be a good price.

As long as it is very clean and the PPI checks out, just self insure.
I wouldn't get too carried away looking for a CPO car, unless you
want to pay $5k-$7k more.

I would be most concerned with the history of the car (owners) and the
condition / history of the body. If something breaks, just fix it.
There's a reason CPO only cost $2k, it generally is not used and Porsche
knows this.

The CPO gamble...depends. I have over $4k in CPO repairs since November. But mine was a garage queen with 13k miles over a 7 year period. I'm glad I paid for the CPO. But the 997s may be more reliable than the 996s.

That's because you have one of those unreliable Targa's.

I traded my 06 C2 with 29 K miles 2 weeks ago for $45.5 K. Bought it last year as a 1-owner P-certified car for $47k. It is for sale at MaplewoodImports MN for $47, still certified. Car was never tracked, felt very tight. Xenons. bose,power/heated seats and the tires have <3K mi on them.
