Price check on '06 C2 Cpe
#16
^FWIW, the dealer gave you a fair deal on the trade-in ( depending what you paid on the car you purchased from them, of course) and the dealer is more prone to just flip it for a quick profit. when does the CPO expire? , now's the time.

$45K with those low miles would be a good price.
As long as it is very clean and the PPI checks out, just self insure.
I wouldn't get too carried away looking for a CPO car, unless you
want to pay $5k-$7k more.
I would be most concerned with the history of the car (owners) and the
condition / history of the body. If something breaks, just fix it.
There's a reason CPO only cost $2k, it generally is not used and Porsche
knows this.

Warranties are a waste of money. I would not go with an aftermarket warranty either. The warranty company could go out of business and you're stuck with a worthless piece of paper.
I've bought and sold about 15 used sports cars without warranties and never had a problem. It's more important to have the service records.
That's why I prefer to buy privately. You'll get the car for a cheaper price than from a dealer and you get to meet the current owner and can see how he/she treats the car.

You, typically can get a better understanding/knowledge of the car's
history just by feeling out the original owner verses purchasing from
a dealer who is pushing hard to sell the car to make a buck.
This being said, there are outstanding dealers out there as well.
I would just look hard at the private party sector and take your time to
find the right car/previous owner. Keep in mind, you're buying the previous owner as well as the car when you are purchasing pre-owned.
