Default X51 airbox question..

I am thinking about changing the standard airbox of my CS2 to the X51 carbon fibre airbox. Not the whole Powerkit, JUST the airbox. So my question is: can anybody confirm if the X51 airbox is just an aesthetic thing or is it in any way different mechanically to the standard airbox? Allowing better breathing or enhancing the sound of the induction? I will not spend that money if it just looks better..

The X51 air box is a dual snorkle design so if you have a 2005-08 Carrera you will have to cut into the deck lid. You are not going to gain anything other than a pretty carbon air box with out doing the other mods that come with a X51 option.

It will allow more air into the engine. (It uses two filters instead of the stock single).

I've tried various oil filter options on my past 3 cars, NEVER AGAIN, no gain, possible headaches (oil getting into MAF, under oiling, over oiling, etc.). It does change the sound of the engine, but that's it!

X51 intake, and airbox with a flash MAY increase HP by a few, but the key is the structural changes in X51 yielding the extra HP.

It just really boggles my mind that people think the stock airbox is actually holding back the engine's performance.
