Some people have, but sometimes the officer says it is not permanent and rejects it.

I have the Skene design since all the small town cops love to pull you over for anything here in Texas. When I originally got pulled over for a missing plate I told him there was no way I was drilling into that bumper and I had a bracket on the way, which I did. He laughed and agreed. Just let me off with a warning. This is the only picture from the front I have.

Another option is the Sto-and-show bracket. It does reduce about 0.5 inches of ground clearance, but I haven’t had any issues yet.

Very easy to install, and to insert/remove the plate. I have to drive to LA occasionally for work, and they are a real pain about the front plate. With this bracket, it’s simple to insert the plate before heading out to LA, then I remove it when I get back.

I have a US Millworks plate holder that attaches to the towhook location. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it.

Saw a guy at a meet with a Targa 4s with this holder on. Looked really cool. When he parked on the street he just pulled it out and there was his plate.

If you mount your front plate off center the asymmetry will pull a viewers eye right to it. My recently purchased second gen 997 came with a contour fitting plate holder screwed to the car. If I remove it the two holes remain. so I run the front plate. My previous 993 had no holes drilled so I kept the plate under the seat. In Oregon, I think that no front plate gets a $400.00 ticket. This will only happen if you get stopped for speeding. I have been lucky in that regard. My only speeding ticket was in a Jeep. ???.

Another vote for the Skene Design bracket. I can remove the plate in less then 5 min and you cant see the small mount when the plate is removed.

Ordered Skene today. The Tow hook was just not my cup o' tea.
Will have a Tow Hook for sale.

I went with sto n sho. Now it’s on. Now it’s off. And then I decided to chop it down for a lower profile. Haven’t put it on since then, but you know it’s less.
