Default Aero kit a big selling feature?

I'm curious what you guys think. I'm trying to sell my 997 right now and was hoping to improve on it's curb appeal with an Aero kit. I'll probably paint the front bumper anyways and I can get an aero kit at a great price slightly used.

My total investment would be about $3500. What do you guys think? Improve my chance of selling a red car or hurt it?

P.S. I think it matters that the car is red. I believe that the buyer of a Red 911 would appreciate the aero kit look.

I am not sure about that. I think the aero kit destroys the classic 911 look. The fact that the car is red is enough to add curb appeal. There are hardly any used red 911's out there that I have seen. What year is the car? I am in the market for a 997 sans aero kit.

It's an '06 C2. 56,000 KM (35,000 mi.)

Pretty meticulously maintained as I have a 18 bay garage at my disposal. 22 months of CPO remaining, new tires, new clutch (warranty from Porsche), dry RMS, new brake fluid, new air filter.

Only options are 19" multi spoke wheels, sport steering wheel and sports chrono.

Really nice, strong, 3.6L motor.

The canadian market is a little different for these cars, I'm asking $56,900. I'm open to offers though as I'd like to move the car before the snow flies.

Can currently sits on Cargraphic lowering springs but I can put the OEM springs in or include them in the sale.

very nice car. What color is the interior? What is the engine type? Do you have a DME scan available?

Yeah, I have the DME scan. I have a Durametric tool actually. There are 3 ignitions in range 4, maybe 100 range 3 and a fair number in 1 and 2.

To clarify, 3 ignitions in range 4 is hardly even a fraction of a second. I think it happened when the clutch pressure plate popped. I've already discussed it with the dealer and they tell me there is no reason to be concerned.

The interior is all black and in great shape. Engine is the 3.6L with the OEM improved IMS bearing design.

Calipers have been professionally painted red with Porsche logo and it has a modified sport exhaust (really sexy sounding OEM modification).

OEM aero would have appeal to guys that plan to track the car more. Non OEM would appeal to 6 speed forum members more. I don't think you would ever recoup cost of the aero. Its not a bathroom or kitchen.

Keep it stock. I represent one of those will never buy a pre-owned car that's been messed with. Most guys are idiots (though certainly nobody here on Rennlist!) so when I see a car that's been messed by the owner with I assume it's done wrongly. Plus? Those darn mods! I'd ask how else has the owner been poking around and messing up the once-perfect-factory-issued car?? Smaller numbers of people like to have a modded car. You can see that by the fact that only a few are modded (except in SoCal). Good luck!

Thank, car is 100% stock now except the springs. I do all the work myself and don't tighten any bolts without a torque wrench in hand.

Excellent. Looks good to me. The fact that it's red will be a big plus! Heard somewhere that red is a huge resale color because people are so excited/dazzled about the color they're going to get to drive around in, that they can't wait to write the check. Innate check-writing impulse ( an evolutionary remnant from the stone age? ) is less stimulated by silver or grey.

See, I heard the opposite that red is one of those love it or leave it colors like yellow.

I that there aren't many out there at all so I suppose I have a captive audience with the 'love it' guys.

I love the red. I had a 78 that was the same colour. Your car is sweeeeet. I would totally do the matching seatbelts and centre console if I were keeping it.
