Don't really care for the Ice Blue. Looks like it's faded from time and ready for a re-paint.

Thanks a lot for the input guys. RollingArt, thanks for your profile pics. Just seeing the nice, but not professionally edited, pics gives me a better idea what the color looks like in person. So it is Riviera Blue from what years? Anyone know the color code so my paint guy can make sure to get the correct paint?

"Speaking of BLUE, I went to the Mullin AUtomotive museum today in Oxnard, California. (Former site of Otis Chandler's museum). This guy collects Bugattis, Talbot Lagos, Dehayaye--and many were in the French racing color of Bugatti Blue or Talbot Blue. One was a recent find in 175 feet of water in Lake Maggiore."

interesting... yeah, Peter Mullin is a huge Bugatti guy... I believe he just got done with a classic bugatti race up at sonoma. think he also recently ran at le mans... anyways, nice pictures as he's got quite a collection...

... to think you could make all that money selling insurance... wow...

Hey does anyone have the actual paint code from the door panel on this Riviera Blue? The paint guy is having trouble getting the correct colour.

Paint code for Riviera Blue = Code 39E

Here's an excerpt from one of Mike's post's while painting his RIVI blue 993. I tried to get his pic of the paint can to load here but couldn't get it done. Here's the link to the post instead.

"Here is the paint they used Glasurit 2 stage. Code 39E (Riviera Blue)." https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...nted-pics.html

My car actually doesn't have the correct code on the label. It is marked "998" which is the paint to sample code on the cars order sheet. Must be trying to keep it a secret or something.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I found out last night after tons of google searching that it used to be called Mexico blue in the 70`s. I gave him that color code & the pait supply is still having trouble getting it! Going to call the dealership Monday & see what they say. This shouldn't be difficult with the paint code & all! The guy painting my car is an amazing retired paint & body guy so he knows what he`s doing. Driving me nuts here! He should be painting right now! Thanks for all the input guys!

The paint code is on the fuel filler flap on the 997s (for the most part). Some are on the driver's door.

Send a PM to Eric - Plug Guy (he owns Bumperplugs). I think he has all of the paint codes.

Haven't been on in years but hopped on to look up something and saw this again so thought I'd post the update....I painted my wanna-be Porsche Mexico blue shortly after this original 2010 post and had my old school Borbets painted to match the new wheel silver.

Mexico Blue with old school Borbets redone in the new Porsche wheel silver.

you get the most delayed response award, 11 years? looks like you missed a few spots on the wheel arches.

lol I know right?! I was randomly looking up an odd question a track buddy asked and ran across my original post and completely forgot I posted in here back then! Hopefully soon in the very near future I'll have the real deal to park next to my wanna-be Porsche.

Very nice! It's like my car's brother from another mother! Seeing cars like this one as a kid are the reason I painted my Miata this color! I actually flipped a coin between painting mine Mexico Blue or Signal Green.
