If you had a Civic, I'd say not a biggie, but you got a Porsche and should not put cheap knock offs on it... no matter what!

+1 -my son bought BBS knock offs on ebay for his A4, hit a small pot hole bent the wheel and it cracked all the way around. He went back to the guy he bought it from and they operate under a different name now and said he would replace it for $80 more than the original price. It's a rip off, don't do it. You don't even get what you paid for...

Saw this at a recent PCGB meet - on a 997 Targa.

Just needs the wheel bolts blackening! But even the Sports Classics has silver fixings! Really detracts IMHO. Should be BLACK!

Anyone knows the offset and weight of these FuchsRacing rims?
(8.5", 11" and possibly 10" for narrow body 997.)

They will be producing a comprehensive set of sizes--from 8.5 inches up front to 11 and 11.5 and 12 in the rear--for both narrow and wide body cars.

I have their current price list w/ sizes, models, etc. A 10 is not standard on the S rear, it's an 11. The non S, is a 18 x 10.5 standard. Both S and non are 8 up front and respectively 18 and 19. The 997 Carrera designation from Fuchs is offered w/ a 19 x 11 and 19 x 12 in the rear and an 8.5 up front. They do not offer 18" wheels for non S Carreras. Prices fluctuate between $5,600 and $6k, depending on configuration. I say whoever is serious, lets put one larger order together and get a "group" discount, I will lead the charge! Im a contractor in NYC, I negotiate for a living.

That is pretty much the going price for a set of high quality drop forged wheels.

Sounds good. Whoever is interested, PM me w/ your sizes, including width and configuration. Color of spokes, etc. I will then compile a list and present it to them.

Are we talking REPLICA Fuchs? Or original Fuchs (Otto Fuchs from Germany)? If original, I might be interested but I won't pay that much for replica Fuchs!

Not more than the Replica ones, just pics online... and from the pics Otto Fuchs definitely look better, even the Porsche Sport Classic look better (albeit cast and not forged).

In addition, I just find it extremely bad taste (to say the least) that some folks PRETEND to be Fuchs by using that name on wheels not produced by the actual FUCHS company! Totally unethical (if not illegal)!

Looks like GENUINE OTTO FUCHS wheels are gonna be even cheaper (not including shipping). € 3900 Euros! that inclues VAT (in Europe), so for shipping to US, it'd be probably around € 3000 Euros!

The guys in the USA have the rights to the name Fuchs in the States.

Whatever... like a Chinese guy can claim rights to Porsche name in China and produce Porsche cars, would make it right?

It's deceiving, no matter how you look at it! I am not debating the quality of the product... but choosing the name Fuchs and producing Fuchs replica wheels is just to deceive consumers. They could have used a similar or different name and produce the exact same wheels and I wouldn't have had ANY issues with it.

What you do not realize is the the Fuchs Racing group in the USA acquired that trademark for use in the USA many many years ago. The only thing that I believe they could be guilty of is is being late to the party. They were the first to envisage a remake of the classic Fuchs windmill wheel for the modern cars and began designing them about 3 years ago. At the same time they began to secure contracts for manufacturing them within a major drop-forging manufacturing company. That takes a significant lead time. Any Chinese job-shop can ramp up quickly to produce a cast version of those wheels and crank them out way before any forging shop can. There is strictly no investment cost comparison. The Fuchs Racing guys recognized that many would pay for the classic look, revised for the newer cars and brakes, and pay the premium for them. Even Otto Fuchs got back into the business once they lost their contract to Porsche to produce the version on the Sport Classic.

If anything Fuchs Racing didn't judge how quickly that wheel would catch on with those of us with the newer cars.

The other issue which i believe is significant, is economic. In today's economy, I have to hand it to the Fuchs Racing guys in that those wheels are wholly produced in Southern California. You are helping the US economy by purchasing them here rather than going to Otto for him. At some point I would like to lay each of these wheels by each other and then you will be able to see the differences.
