Default Sport Mode (PASM) as default?

Apologies if this has been covered.....did not see it in a quick search.

Is there a hack for making Sport Mode an ignition-on default? (997.2)

TIA

No. Look at it as a cockpit check list:

Ignition on - fuel pump prime - Check!
SC Sport On - Check!
PASM Normal - Check!
Ignition start - Check!
First gear on - Check!
Go!

Funny......I was up in a Cirus Turbo the other day...incredible plane, incredible avionics.

Seriously....it's a momentary rocker switch, haven't pulled it yet.....should be a way.

Gregg - don't have an answer for ya...but I was thinking the same thing just yesterday. Should be an easy fix...back in my 2000 Mustang GT days there was a modified switch so the traction control default was off rather than on every time you started the car (was a very intrusive TC system back then).

Hmm, so it's too difficult to press the button after you turn on the engine?!

Yep....I'm pretty slow. And challenges like this, well they pretty much ruin my day .

It's wife's car......too many things she can't run on the car already.
For me, yes I am ****. Most everything I have on the cars is hardwired, custom, etc, but also our cars are daily drivers....it's one thing to flip it twice on a Saturday.....it's stupid (IMO) to flip it 20 times every day of the week.....at least if you don't have to.

I agree. True, it's not difficult to press the button for Sport mode, or for the PSE for that matter. But the default for both of those items could and should have been made driver programmable in PCM.

If you qualify it as "wife's car" then it should start in the lowest common denominator... I suspect that's precisely the reason PAG does not allow to change the default.

Where do you guys find these brittle, porcelain wives that can't handle a car properly? And why do you marry them?

Since I must leave my car (and my key) in a garage in NYC, I like the idea that unless they read the manual, if they decide to "test it out," they will be in the default setting and find themselves in seventh gear before they can do any real harm. With luck they will return bored and frustrated.

I just talked to a salesman at Stoddard Porsche about this and we both agree it should either remember it or be able to set it in the computer like the door locks.

i do wish our cars had a button similar to the ///M button.. you program what you want it to do and then one button does it (suspension, throttle response, stiffness, so forth)

i also wish our PDK transmissions were more evolved like ferrari f1 where there WASNT a shifter but instead a button for reverse and another button for AUTO and car defaults to manual mode when started...

Oddly, the PASM in my GT3 remembers its setting when I turn the car off, but the "sport" button and traction control buttons do not.

Wait. You're saying Porsche doesn't allow the car to be programmed to start in sport mode because they're concerned that a woman wouldn't be able to handle it? Really?

I never said that. I put the phrase "wife's car" in quotes since the OP referred to the car that way, perhaps indicating non-enthusiast... Of course many women are car enthusiasts, but many are not. My implication was that perhaps PAG set the defaults at the least common denominator as a baseline for the average or sub-average driver (man or woman). This speculation is the result of a conversation on this exact topic with some Porsche people as that was the idea I was left with (unofficially).

As I suggested above... approach it as a cockpit check list.
