You gotta love the Lambo guys.
They buy a car that looks like a spaceship hovering, and then to make sure no one misses them, paint it a shade of chartreuse, or day glow orange.
My car is a perfect color match for the asphalt on the N.J. Turnpike

OTOH, truly exotic cars should be any color those guys want. They are outrageous and over-the-top from the second the designers start their drawings. Owners probably don't drive them enough to get too many tickets anyway.

People should stick to what they sincerely, truly desire in life. If a color of a car is that important to your well-being then so be it.
I do find it interesting that we still want the objects we own to help define ourselves to the rest of the world. That's a bit unsettling, but in a world of increasing anonymity and with the feeling of less individual self worth it can sometimes bring, then it's somewhat understandable. People want to be noticed and to feel unique.
Anyway, again do what really keeps you honestly happy.
fwiw, I drive one of those everyday common Mercedes that the OP sees on the road all the time.... and in plain old gray, no less
But my E63 AMG is a total blast to drive and extremely versatile as a daily driver. I couldn't care less if nobody notices me. In fact, I prefer that! Especially the highway patrol

There are many silver and gray 911s but they all look great. I think that arctic silver is a classic Porsche color - very easy to maintain too.

Using Porsche's CPO search tool, I'd found 997's that match all that, except...
Most all of them seem to be silver, gray, or black. I don't like silver and gray on cars (especially the 911...no offense but I find it a boring color for this car), and I already have a black Jeep and don't want another black car.
My top three color combos are:
1. Red with tan interior (not Carmona Red, but Guards Red)
2. Yellow with black interior
3. White (undecided on interior color)

Talk about unique - that's a color you'd never have to worry seeing somebody else drive on the road!

This is totally unrealistic and probably pretty pricey but . . . Just buy a 911 and have it wrapped in any color you'd like (e.g. the Blue 911 on the most recent cover of Exellence - notice on the edges of the open trunk that the car is white but was wrapped in blue). I'd guess it's much less expensive to get a PTS if you are buying new - I seem to recall Premier doing a full clear wrap on an MC-12 that cost about 12K or so.

Did you see the GR with tan 2006 conv. with 7100mi. on ebay?

Looks like just the car for you. Fairly close to you even.

The reason I probably bypassed it was because it wasn't a CPO car. Otherwise, it's a beautiful car. But if I'm going to pay that kind of price for a used car, it simply must have a warranty of some kind. Even if it's just a CPO 2-year extension (or whatever CPO gives you) that gives me time to shake any problems out on Porsche's dime.
I posted before but didn't see a response yet...does anybody know of a GOOD and RELIABLE 3rd-party company out there that does extended warranties on 911's? I'd do a non-CPO car as long as I could back it up with a good solid 3rd-party warranty from a company that covers the claims if something goes wrong.
MUSSBERGER: That black one is very nice. But I've been driving a black on black Jeep for about 5 years now, and don't want another black car. Otherwise, very nice car.
