In particular, I think V10 has been a disappointment! It has changed the balance of the car for worse and other parts of the car hasn't been tweaked enough for extra power.
I've tracked the V8-R8 on the Cataluna F1 circuit, and it is a HECK of a car to track! The amount of grip is phenomenal, definitely you can generate more G-force on corners than a 911... it was so good that the head of our local Porsche club and a huge hard core Porsche guy changed his GT3 to R8. He said, GT3 was still better on shorter, twisty tracks (ie. Mission Raceway), while R8 was better on longer more open tracks (i.e. Pacific Raceway). He is consistently faster than most GT3 guys at the instructor level.
The manual gear gates are a bit slow, which could explain the straight line difference here, and generally I believe this short track favored Porsche more. Nevertheless, R8 V-10 hasn't tested that favorably vs. the older V8!

That was a fun vid. Thanks for posting!
I think Tiff is right up there with Walter when it comes to driving 911s. Jason is no slouch either. It would have been interesting to see them swap cars and do the exercise again.
And I agree,....I think it's nuts when these TV guys run courses without head protection,...especially in a rag top.
