Hi, sorry I just found the visitor messages section and read your message from Aug-2014! I found out it was the action of pulling the emergency brake up very quickly that was causing the loud snapping/breaking sound. It's almost like a cog was slipping and snapping back. Since then I pull the brake up at a even and fair pace and haven't had it happen.
