Exactly.

There is nothing snotty or 'snooty' about this response at all. Hard to challenge the facts...and that's what's been spelled out.

imho, it would have been fun to see both of them bounce it off each other in a "crowd pleasing" way; i.e., see who can outdo each other in the cleverness department instead of the racetrack.
Yup. It could have been a lot of fun.

It's funny that Porsche would use the "racing not posing" excuse. I can see the Mini ad now about why Porsche declined -- "Porsche claims they won't accept our challenge because they're all about racing, not posing." followed by two pictures --- a Cayenne and a Panamera.

When you need to capitalize on another marque for your own brand recognition then you've lost the plot.

Really, the Cayenne seemed pretty successful in the Transsyberia Rally. The Panamera is too new but will be raced shortly by a privateer team, so...

I also like the message at the end of its video -- Porsche, "Roots in racing. Not posing."

Racing, not posing.

Now....which contrasting stitch pattern did you want for the seams on your seats?

Default Be Glad They Didnt Mention IMS Failures

How did that racing not posing thing work out with the IMS failures that still seem to occur?

And, what about all the Minis that were raced in the 60s and 70s? The mini invented the hot hatch.

If it was the same company i'd say it's worth asking this but it's a BMW now not a MINI.

Our cars are VWs now, not Porsche. The MINI is still made in England. BMW bought the brand, like Ford bought Jag (and has since sold it).

Not quite. BMW bought a dead brand, with no production. The new Mini is a bloated re-incarnation of the original Mini. The original Mini was a very small car. I know, I drove plenty. The current Mini is a fairly large hatch, competing with the Mazda 3 and the Golf.
