Many of us chose to install an ashtray switch instead of using the Sport Chrono button, as we didn't want to necessarily be in sport mode just to be in loud mode. Plus, I expect adding the ashtray switch is easier then dealing with wiring to the DME or adding the PSE switch on the center stack for cars with no Sport Chrono.

Alex,
If you want, when I get back to town, we can get together and I can show you my PSE with ashtray switch install. You can see and hear for yourself, and I can walk you through what you need to know if you are planning on doing it yourself.

$800 (including tips) is a fair price. Make sure there are no broken welds or cracks, which are common in the early production run of PSE.
Problem is, for all the fancy switching that is relatively useless, you pay a large weight penalty. PSE cans weight at least 30lbs each, stock are 21 lbs, and AWE, GMG and Fabspeed are significantly lighter (say 15lbs)
I too would suggest a simple gundo hack to your existing mufflers.
