Question- Why do someposts garner a bunch of views, no responses and then get closed?
It is a curiosity to me that some posts that seem to bring up a legitimate question go completely ignored and others that are more conversational or observational score a ton of responses. I guess my question is more about process...who closes posts?
An example is the post last week by a member asking opinions on using 18" vs. stock 19" to improve ride quality. To my uniformed eyes it seemed like a decent question and yes I admit that I was looking forward to a rich debate on the question.
I guess this is an observational post too....

I have no idea why that particular one was closed. Although it has been discussed a lot, I think it is inappropriate for Rennlist management to simply close a thread on their own. I would assume the OP requested that it be closed.

When posts are boring and don't get alot of attention, they close them to get people to take more interest in them. It's a conspiracy by the moderators to try to make more money.
(just kidding, who know why people get all fired up over and over again about certain subjects: tires, over-rev stats)

I suspect that the response rate to new threads is determined as much by who happens to be online the first day or two after it's started as it is by the 'merit' of the subject. Personally I'm just as happy seeing fewer but substantive replies rather than innane ones (like mine?).

Me personally? Definitely gotta get answers to issues. There's also got to be some entertainment value and camaraderie. For example, I have an engineering friend who's wife is begging him to "be more creative." BTW, He bought an wore a hat like Justin Timberlake, that worked for three days.
