Question '08 Carrera Exhaust

Looking for advice in upgrading stock exhaust. 2 systems considered; FabSpeed and Billy Boat. Recommendations?

Full AWE exhaust here (headers, cats, mufflers) and I couldn't be happier with the quality and sound.

A friend of mine put a BB exhaust on his BMW a few years ago. Loud as hell. Sounded like crap. He took it off the next day and sold it. YMMV

Fabspeeds can be on the noisy side also. How obnoxious would you like to be?

I'd like to hear the AWE system. Seen the pics on their website. The quality looks incredible.

Default I have the Fabspeed...

2007 Carrera. I installed a x-51 header, and the Fabspeed MaxFlo mufflers with 200 cell cats about a month ago. I don't think its too loud, but that is subjective. Ultimately you need to drive a car with the exhaust to hear for yourself.

Here's my full AWE cold start. Absolutely loved it but had to take it down for smog reasons in California.

By the way, the sound is just a small benefit. The real benefit is the change to the responsiveness of the car. It is a very good performance improvement.

Yup, forgot to add about the bump in h.p. and tq.

From A.W.E.'s website:
"+28-39 crank hp, +28-31 crank tq with full system for 997S"

I've never put my car on the dyno so I can't confirm these numbers but the increased responsiveness was noticeable.

WAY Too optimistic to expect that kind of HP gain...

PM me if interested - I am trying to sell my almost new fabspeed maxflo mufflers. You can get pretty good deal on `em.

Add Fabspeed x-pipe cats to them and you`ll be more than happy. I ran this exact setup for 3 months and was quite happy with it.

On my '06 C2 I got about of 30hp gain from entire package - K&N filter, x-pipe cats, maxflo mufflers, ipd plenum, softronic flash. What was more important than just HP gain - torque curves became much more flat, car felt like pulling much more equally from 4.5K rpm until red zone, some timing fluctuations I used to have disappeared, so overall it felt really great. Those upgrades do worth it. But it has to be done as a whole, not just one single part add-on.

Default FabSpeed for Sale

I am interested in your FabSpeed Maxflor mufflers. Why are you selling them? One of my concerns is loudness - are they too loud for you? I know that all the aftermarket systems have benefits and FabSpeed have been recommended by two shops I have used in the past. What comes with the mufflers and what will I need for installation? I already have tips that replaced the ovals on my '08 Carrera. Do you use PayPal?

I'm curious... did you not pass the visual inspection or did the car not pass an actual smog sniff test?

I personally like the PSE exhaust. I did add the X51 headers to change them a tiny bit. (This video is strictly PSE--no X51 headers yet).

I have Fabspeed with EVO headers and air intake. Very satisfied.

GHL on my 993 and like that too.
