Great link, brings back a lot of memories. Slightly off topic, but I found an ad for the first car I bought myself; 1969 Plymouth GTX 440, same color scheme, wheels, stripes as picture. $1800 used with 10,000 miles. No power steering or AC, drum brakes, 4speed, Hurst shifter, Air-grabber hood, 3.54 Dana LS rear end. Added an 850 Holley double pumper and hi-rise manifold, headers, Koni shocks, American mags and big Goodyears. Crude and fast (in a straight line). Wish I still had it. It was rated stock at 375 HP from 7.2 liters; 10 less than my P car which has about half the displacement. Amazing. Bit more torque though.....

Damn. So do I, and most of the ones from the two previous decades as well. My first car was a 1949 Ford which I can't find in those ads, but our first car as a married couple was the 1953 Studebaker, and we were driving an MG when the 911 was introduced. That one in the ad looks just like the one we test drove somewhere up around Palo Alto. We decided that was too much money and tried a 912 instead. Although I liked them both, the 912 didn't seem enough faster than a good MG to be worth the difference. So we kept our MG for years.
But boy did I remember that 911S that came out shortly afterward. Finally got one two months ago.![burnout](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/burnout.gif)
