Default '06 S Cab Choices - Seats

I am looking at 2 '06 S cabs. Both cars can be bought for ~$55K.

1. Original owner, 8K miles and is out of warranty. Near perfect condition. Sport Chrono, Power & Heated Seats, Bose

2. Two owner, 22K miles and has a warranty through 2012. Very good condition. Sport Chrono, Sport Seats (No power or heat) and Bose. TechArt Formula 20" wheels plus original 19" Carrera wheels included with virtually new tires.

Any thoughts on the heated/power seats? Those are two features that I thought were important to me but I do like the Sport Seats.

Thanks.

I have an 05 cab, and the heated seats do come in very handy. I live in the midwest so many days during the spring and fall, I have the top down, heated seats on and heat on. I think it is one of those things that you really depend on once you have it. I also have power seats, but the argument many have is that once you get the seat where you want it, it rarely moves unless you have multiple drivers. So maybe the power seat option is not as important.

He lives here in Arizona. I've never had the inclination to use heated seats. Assuming your car is garaged at night too, then I doubt you'll ever use them either.

When it's cold and you want the top down anyway you can just have the heater on with it set to also come out at the feet. My bum has never been the cold part when I want topless driving here in January when it's in the 50's & sunny outside.

I like my heated seats. Its 50 here today and the snug warm seat is just right on. My .02 cents.

Heated seats are a good feature to have in any convertible.

Try to get heated steering as well if you get heated seats. Plus vented option as well - for summer. It is unbelievably great when you have your back dry and cooled in July heat.

heated seats will extend your top down driving season I'd be inclined to keep looking for the right cab, assuming you're not in FL, HI or PR!

Thanks for all of your input. My gut tells me to get heated seats since in the winter and spring we have a lot of cool mornings and evenings. But, I do love the Sport Seats in this car!

Heated seats in a cab is a must even in Southern Cal. You can have the top down all year round and the heated seats make it very comfortable.

It comes down to personal choice. I love the sport seats too, and when I had my cab here in So Cal 2 years ago, I never used the heated seats. The heater was sufficient for me on cool days. The extended warranty would be the tie breaker for me. Good luck with your selection. I'm also in the market for a C2S cab.

I agree in South Florida I drive my convertible with the seats on all the time in the winter.

Plus, that one has lower miles and is one owner. No brainer to me.

Oh god.... how about a heated shifter to go with the heated steering wheel and heated seats? Maybe heated Bose stereo ****? Heated turn signal lever? Oh, and don't forget heated pedals for your feet that might get cold. Maybe they could make seats that disperse heat right on the neck like Mercedes.

The 8000 versus 22000 mile difference means more than the seats. I can't see how Porsche makes the seat heaters an option, should be standard. Both the standard and sport seats are comfortable. No salesman should ever allow a car to be ordered without seat heaters.

Extending the warranty might run around $3K for 3 years.
