Thanks for the tip. I may try that next time.

without empirical evidence (braking trials with porsche brake pads vs. aftermarket) it's all opinion, including your statement. my experience with hawk pads is purely subjective and ymmv, etc.

so based upon your opinion, brembo pads would be the way to go? iirc, they are the supplier to porsche.

P.S. - Some say that soft braking releases more brake dust.

You're joking right?

Thanks for all the feedback. Time to start experimenting....

Waxing the wheels is a priority, but I'm a few months off. I need to detail this car, as it arrived from the dealer with the usual reasonably thorough wash, spray on wax (nearly gone after one wash and a couple of rainstorms), and the marked up clearcoat.

Not my opinion. Its the fact. Im talking about the Ceramic pads (that you mentioned, not track pads), no way they equal Porsche OEM pads.
Now Hawk & Pagid Motorsports series pads will be a different story.

I myself used Hawk HP performance(step higher than the ceramics) many times at VIR and in the heat of the summer they start fading. Installed the OEMs back, endured three days of Blue group braking. //Also Im not refering to Brembo at all, just the OEMs, besides Textar also makes OEMs for Porsche.

I agree with you that the ceramics will produce less dust, but the stopping power is definitely not equal.

So I looked up what PCCB's would cost to retro. Holy ****. I'm just gonna invest in more rags.

The dust issue was a factor in my decision to order PCCBs.

(1) Reduced weight
(2) Better handling
(3) Reduced maintenance costs
(4) Significantly reduced dust clean up
